Updated 1st Jan 2012 -  UK Turnover in the Energy & Utilities sector companies monitored has fallen by 6% in the last accounting year to reach £2226.2bn, while profits have increased by 7% to £247.2bn.  Employee numbers have declined by 3% in the period to reach approximately 1,689,191 people.  In the longer term, turnover has fallen by 8% and employee numbers have decreased by 12% over the past 3 years.  See UK Growth by Sector section for more detail.
