Manchester office opened - funding secured for hospital developments
Robertson Group is to commence work on two major hospital developments in Cumbria. Funding has been secured for the £11m Cockermouth Community Hospital and £4m Cleator Moor Health Centre. Robertson opened a new office in Manchester in April 2012. 2011 turnover £204.5m, 1,039 employees.

27 jobs created - Creative Jobs Fund successful
A piltot project launched by Northern Film & Media to create jobs in the creative industries has provded successful, with companies adding 27 full-time posts in spring 2012. The company launched the £72,000 Creative Jobs Fund in February 2012. 2011 turnover £3.5m.

£18m investment - workforce to treble - acquired by BASF - new manufacturing facility
German chemical company BASF has acquired life sciences firm Equateq and is investing £18m to create a new manufacturing facility on the Isle of Lewis. In an agreement with the government, BASF is creating 90 jobs at the facility, expanding production of Omega 3 fatty acids. Equateqs 2010 turnover was £1.1m.

Approves 4.4m of schemes - 3,000 jobs to be created
The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership has approved schemes worth 4.4m in total, to enable developments that will create more than 3,000 jobs to go ahead. Funding was secured from the government Growing Places Fund. A further 9m of investment funds are available for projects in the next round.

Substantial turnover growth expected - £290,000 funding secured - 19 jobs created
Llanelli-based Chromogenex Technologies expects turnover to increase from £6.9m to £12.5m in 2012 following strong US sales of its non-surgical slimming device. It has received £290,000 from the Welsh Government Single Investment Fund and has created 19 jobs and purchased equipment to reduce manufacturing costs.

Turnover doubles - Overseas sales rise - 290,000 funding received - 19 jobs created
Cosmetic treatment company Chromogenex Technologies, based in Llanelli in Wales, has doubled its turnover to 12.5m as a result of strong sales in the US which equates for 60 per cent of the companys turnover. The company has received 290,000 funding from the Welsh government through the Single Investment Fund and repayable finance. This funding has created 19 new jobs and has enabled the company to purchase equipment to reduce manufacturing costs. Dave Morgan is Finance Director.

Business expansion - Turnover up 9 per cent - Profits reach 8m - 10m investment
Tableware producer Steelite International, based in Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire, has recorded sales of 66.3m in 2011, up from 60.6m in 2010. Company profits have also increased to 7.9m. The company is to invest 2m from the governments Regional Growth Fund as part of its 10m expansion into a new manufacturing site at Stoke on Trent. The company continues to develop its oversea markets with increased growth in the US, Eastern Europe and Asia. Kevin Oakes is Chief Executive.
