Hays Travel has employed 20 staff from Vacation World, which closed down in May 2012 after its membership of Hays Travel Independence Group was terminated. The Independence Group is a consortium which offers support to independent travel agents.

Acquires Page & Moy Travel Group - business expansion - £4.2m investment
All Leisure Group is acquiring Page & Moy Travel Group Ltd for £4.2m after securing a £5.8m loan from a consortium of individual investors. The acquisition will allow All Leisure Group to expand into new markets. All Leisure Group recorded turnover of £80.3m in 2011 and had 119 employees.

Online travel group management proposal to acquire the business - Revenue down to 43.8m
Online travel group Travelzest has received an expression of interest to acquire the business from a group of its executive directors. Chief executive officer Jonathan Carroll and chief financial officer Adrian Cobbold have submitted a preliminary expression of interest to the company's board. The company have recorded for the year to 31 October 2011 a 14 per cent fall in revenue from 43.8m in 2010 to 37.7m.

2 new directors - Growing online presence - 5% rise in searches
Teletext Holidays is to aggressively grow its online and mobile presence. The company saw a record 4.5 million online holiday searches in the first quarter of 2012, up 5% year on year. Technology entrepreneur Dr Daniel Lee has been appointed to the board as head of mobile operations, and Jane Hendy has become finance director.
