New Director of Acquisitions and Co-productions
ITV has appointed Ruth Clarke as Director of Acquisitions and Co-productions for ITV Studios Global Entertainment. She will oversee the company's acquisition and co-production strategy and report to managing director Maria Kyriacou. Clarke was most recently senior VP and head of EMEA at Shine International.

Product development ongoing - commercial launch planned
Motive Television is making progress in its BCJV LLC joint venture with Granite Broadcasting Corporation, to enable Television Anytime Anywhere over broadcast television to tablet devices. A Technical Feasibility Analysis and Business Plan has been approved. Technical development of the product will begin in June 2012, leading to a commercial launch in Spring 2013. 2010 turnover £1.3m.

£2m grant - Business expansion - New jobs created
Elstree Studios has received a £2 million grant to develop new film and TV facilities in Elstree, Hertfordshire, creating new jobs. The new stage will be built on four acres of unused land at the back of the existing studio. The company is one of the most popular filming locations in the country.

Contract Secured with Serco Group - Company Growth
International service company Secro has signed a new 5 year contract with Ideal Shopping, valued at £17m. The contract will employ 160 people with existing members of staff in Peterborough transferring to Serco. As well as protecting the existing jobs, 40 new jobs will be brought into the city within the first 12 months. Mike Hancox is CEO .

Construction of cinema underway - potential new jobs
Construction has started on the VUE cinema multiplex at Manor Walks Shopping Centre in Cramlington, Northumberland. The development includes family restaurants and cafes. Building work is being carried out by Tolent Construction. The development is expected to create new jobs and should be completed by May 2013.

13 Jobs Lost - Company Restructure - 133 Employees
THIRTEEN jobs will be lost at S4C in a management and departmental restructure. The form and nature of departments will change and a further net reduction of around 10 posts is anticipated. A voluntary redundancy scheme at the end of last year brought staff numbers down at the channel from 165 to 133. Ian Jones is Chief Executive.

Telephone show ceases production - 29 jobs lost
Guardian Media Group is to end production of original programming at its Manchester based station Channel M after being unable to find a buyer for the local television station. The station will remain on air but will no longer broadcast its evening magazine show, Channel M Today, and cease production of all original news and features. Twenty nine jobs will be lost as a direct result.
