Company Expansion - New Jobs - Financial Support Secured - 261 Employees
Logistics company Clipper Logistics has been offered financial support by Newark and Sherwood District Council of £1,000 for each new employee it takes on. The company is also finalising a major new contract that would enable it to build a 150,000sq ft extension to its premises, almost doubling its size and employing upto 100 new staff.

£100m load Facility Secured - Sale of Blackheath Site Completed - 280 Employees
Self storage business Big Yellow Group has secured a new 15-year £100m loan facility with Aviva Commercial Finance. The loan, which is secured on a portfolio of 15 of its self storage centres, will be used to repay and cancel £100m of its core bank debt facility of £225m. This facility expires in September 2013. The business has also completed the sale of its site in Blackheath to Hexagon Housing Association for £4.5m and has exchanged contracts on the sale of a one-acre site next to its Chiswick store. Creating 230 jobs - opening warehouse - £22.5m investment
Vantec Europe is opening a 421,000 sq ft building in Sunderland after receiving £2.7m from the Regional Growth Fund. The company is creating 230 jobs at the site by 2015 as part of a £22.5m investment. The firm employs more than 800 people in the north-east of England. 2010: turnover £20.9m; 472 employees.

Mobile commerce site launched - website traffic up 44% - substantial revenue growth
Airport parking specialists Purple Parking recorded an 82% increase in revenue from web traffic in January and February 2012, following its investment in online activity. Transactions have increased by 88% year-on-year. The improvement follows the launch of a mobile commerce site.

New industrial premises for self storage company - 23rd store
Farnborough-based Lok'nStore, the self storage unit supplier, is to build a new self-storage centre in Maidenhead, Berkshire. The development will also include a new supermarket operated by Lidl adjoining the self-storage company's facility. The site will cover an area of 60,000 sq ft and will be the companys 23rd store. Andrew Jacobs is Chief Executive of Lok'n'Store.

500 jobs to be created - New distribution warehouse
Asda is to build a multi million pound distribution warehouse at Wynyard Park, Teeside. The 350,000 sq ft unit is to be run by Leeds-based Clipper Logistics and will create up to 500 jobs. More jobs are expected to be created during construction. Both firms are jointly investing around £15m in fitting out the unit, which is due to come become fully operational in September 2012.
