15 security jobs lost - Review of security
G4S is to cut 15 security staff at MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester after the owner, Peel Holdings, undertook a review of security levels. The company intends to re-deploy as many officers as possible. The changes are to take affect from 1st July 2012.

Typhoo contract extended - cost efficiencies expected
Facilities management company OCS Group has extended its contract with tea company Typhoo. OCS will continue to provide high-level cleaning at the Typhoo office and factory premises in Moreton, Merseyside and will now also provide other types of cleaning. The contract extension is expected to provide improved quality of service and cost efficiency.

£2m security contract secured - 24 staff required
OCS Group has secured a three-year contract to supply security services at Telford Shopping Centre in Shropshire. OCS will provide a team of 24 staff to operate CCTV and car parks and to patrol the malls. Year to March 2011: turnover £491.3m; 24,646 employees.

Acquires CSS Group - £5m share placing - relocating head office
Dumfries-based security firm Croma is taking over Southampton-based CSS Group, which specialises in CCTV, fire and security alarms and locksmith services. The deal will broaden Croma's range of services substantially. Croma is also placing £5m of shares with institutional investors and is relocating its head office to Edinburgh.

£5.7m contract secured - potential new jobs
Security firm Croma Group Plc has secured a £5.75m contract to secure the premises of a major listed London property group. The five-year contract has the potential to create new jobs. CromaâEURTMs manned guarding division currently employs approximately 340 people. The group's turnover for the year to June 2011 was £8.4m.

Acquires Fountains Environmental - business expansion
Sussex-based OCS Group has taken over the assets from Fountains Environmental Limited, which was placed into administration in January 2012. The takeover is part of OCS Group's strategy to develop its leading position in the UK facilities management market. OCS has 56,000 employees and recorded turnover of £491.3m in the year to March 2011.

Revenue rises 5% - Profit up - Net debt down £0.3m
Petards Group, a supplier of security, surveillance and engineering solutions full-year pre-tax profit will beat market forecasts as its year and year revenue grew 5% as a result of better margins, overhead savings and lower financing costs. The companys net debt reduced from £1.8m in June 2011 to £1.5m in December 2011.

Recruitment centre opened - 10,000 jobs for Olympics
G4S, the official security provider for the Olympic Games, has opened its London 2012 Recruitment Centre in Stratford, London. The company wants to hire around 10,000 staff to work at the event in summer 2012. Mark Hamilton is the Managing Director of G4S Security Personnel.

Assets sold for £6.1 million- Cannon Textile Care purchased by textile rental company
The business and specified garment, linen, mat and towel contracts and related assets of Cannon Textile Care from OCS Group UK Limited have been acquired by Johnsons Apparelmaster Limited, the textile rental division of Johnson Service Group PLC based in Fulwood, Lancashire. The OCS Group sold these assets for approximately £6.1 million. Cannon currently operates its textile rental business from laundries based in Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, Newmarket, Suffolk and Balham, London with additional depots in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear and Birmingham. OCS will continue to operate their washroom services business under the Cannon Hygiene brand.
