5m expansion drive - 10 new Bars Planned - 4 Year Plan - 10.2m Turnover
City centre pub chain Baa Bar is planning to double its portfolio of ten bars over the next four years in a 5m expansion drive. The company has a turnover of 10.2m and employs around 175 staff. Chairman is Richard O'Sullivan. Chief Executive is Elaine Clarke .

Open fourth Manchester venue - 50 new jobs - £150,000 refurbishment programme
Baa Bar Group is opening a fourth venue in Manchester, creating 50 new jobs. It is also investing £150,000 to upgrade its other three Manchester sites in 2012. The expansion is part of a UK-wide investment programme. Baa Bar operates nine bars and turned over more than £11m in 2011. It employs 320 staff.

Gala Casino takeover agreed - 205m investment - acquiring 23 casinos
Rank Group has conditionally agreed to acquire Gala Casinos from Gala Coral Group for 205m. The acquisition includes 23 casinos and creates the largest casino operator in Great Britain with 58 venues and 13 non-operating licences. Rank plans to expand its G Casino format to the acquired venues. Rank Group 2010 turnover 544.5m, 8,937 employees.

50 new jobs - opening Harvester pub and restaurant
Mitchells & Butlers is opening a new Harvester pub-restaurant at the Broad Street Plaza development, in Halifax, Yorkshire, on 31 July 2012, as part of its UK expansion strategy.
