£1m revenue from Olympics - £121m debt facility secured - expansion in London
Student accommodation provider Unite Group expects Olympic contracts to add up to £1.75m to its revenue. A total of 3,600 of its rooms will be used in relation to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Unite is acquiring two planned schemes in Stratford and Camden and has secured a £121m debt facility with Legal & General. 2010 turnover £193.4m, 913 employees.

15 security jobs lost - Review of security
Peel Holdings is to cut 15 security staff at MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester after a review of security levels. The security contract is with G4S, which intends to re-deploy as many officers as possible. The changes are to take affect from 1st July 2012.

New 21.9m wind farm scheme - 30 new jobs
Banks Renewables, part of the Banks Group, has completed a 21.9m agreement with The Co-operative Bank to fund the construction of the Penny Hill Wind Farm in South Yorkshire. Thirty new jobs are expected to be created as a direct result. Completion is expected by the end of 2013.

New distribution centre - 600 jobs created
Prologis is to redevelop a distribution centre in Buntingford, Hertfordshire, which could create up to 600 jobs. The building was used as a Sainsburys supermarket depot until 2004.

Bid for new site - Potential new 60,000-seater stadium
Chelsea has submitted a bid to acquire the Battersea Power Station site in order to build a new 60,000-seater stadium. The bid is in partnership with property developer Almacantar . The process could run for a number of months. Chelsea cannot move from Stamford Bridge unless they can convince fan-led group Chelsea Pitch Owners, who own the land, to sell them back the freehold.

Business expansion strategy - seeking acquisitions - £10m sales increase
London Security is planning to expand through acquisition after recording a £10m increase in sales to £96.3m. Pre-tax profit increased from £18.7m to £20.3m. The company provides fire protection to 163,000 customers from offices in the UK, Belgium, Holland and Austria and is seeking acquisitions throughout Europe.

Placed into administration - jobs at risk
Glasgow-based property company City Site Estates and four of its sister businesses have been placed into either administration or receivership, putting jobs at risk. In 2011 its holding company Union Estates warned that it had breached some of its loan covenants. In February 2012 four of its London properties were placed in receivership.
