Opening development centre - potential new jobs
Panasonic is establishing a fuel cell research and development centre in Cardiff, creating new jobs. The centre is part of a wider UK investment of £200m by the company, which will create 1,500 jobs in total. Fuel cell technology is used to heat homes, water and generate electricity. Year to March 2011: turnover £73.9m; 308 employees.

Online wireless and consumer technology retailer eXpansys showed a half year pre-tax profit of £0.8m from a loss of £39,000 the year before. Adjusted profit before tax increased 13% to £1.6m. Turnover for the period increased 42% to £46.6m. Bob Wigley is Chairman.
