New £3m brewery opens - Company Growth
The Meantime Brewing Company has opened the largest new brewery in London since before the Second World War. The £3 million development at its site in Greenwich will allow it to produce 17 million pints of craft beers a year when running at full capacity. Nick Miller is Chief Executive.

Northern Ireland director appointed -Belfast office opened
Food service company Aramark, which recently opened consolidated offices in Belfast, has continued its expansion with the appointment of Ray Taylor as regional operations director for its Workplace Solutions and Food Services in Northern Ireland. Aramark employs 4,000 people throughout Ireland. 2010 turnover for the group was £367m.

Strong business performance - UK sales growth - positive outlook
Nichols recorded strong trading in the first four months of 2012 with sales growth more than 10% higher than in the 2011 same period. UK sales growth is ahead of the market following the launch of a Weight Watchers soft drinks range. Sales and earnings growth is expected to meet full year expectations.

Acquired by Langholm Capital - private equity investment - management buy-in
West Midlands based Purity Soft Drinks has been acquired by private equity firm Langholm Capital following a management buy-in. 2011 pre-tax profit at Purity was 1.3m on sales of 14.9m. The company employs about 70 staff.

£15.2m investement - Walkers Crisp factory expansion - 110 new jobs
Pepsico is opening a production line to make Red Sky and Extra Crunch crisps at its Walkers Crisps factory in Leicester. It is creating 110 new jobs at the factory, which is receiving a £15.2m upgrade, including 80 general workers, 20 support staff and 10 technicians. 2,000 people are employed at the factory.

British multinational alcoholic beverages company, Diageo Plc, headquartered in London, has completed a Mandatory Tender Offer (MTO) for outstanding shares in Chinese White Spirits Company Sichuan Shuijingfang. The MTO was required by Chinese takeover regulations following the approval of Diageo taking control of Sichuan Chengdu Quanxing Group Company Ltd. Gilbert Ghostine is President of Diageo Asia Pacific.

Brewing Company Heineken, have recorded beer volumes in the UK up 4.7 percent in like-for-like group sales for the first quarter. First-quarter net profits rose 25 per cent to 143m while revenues grew by 6.8 per cent .
