Tynegrain is launching a new 4m facility after 2011 turnover increased to 174m from 96m in 2010. Pofits increased to 2.3m from 1.9m. The company has recruited four graduates and is opening a 40,000-tonne grain store in Teesside.

Profit rises 48 per cent - Revenue up 38 per cent
Anglo-Eastern Plantations Plc, which owns, operates and develops plantations in Indonesia and Malaysia, has recorded revenue of 259.0 million dollars, 38 per cent higher than 187.2 million recorded in 2010. Group operating profit for 2011 was 96.0 million dollars, 48 per cent more than 64.9 million in 2010. Madam Lim Siew Kim is Chairman.

31% profits growth - revenues increased to £196m - positive full-year outlook
Cumbria agriculture, food and engineering group Carrs Milling Industries recorded revenues of £196m in the 26 weeks to March 2012, up from £175m in the six months to February 2011. Pre-tax profit increased by 31% from £5.7m to £7.4m. Results for the full year are expected to be ahead of the expectations.

New Chairman appointed - Revenue up 42 per cent - Profit rises 17 per cent
Animal feed manufacturer Wynnstay Group Plc, based near Welshpool in Wales, has appointed Gareth Owen as new Chairman after former Non-Executive Chairman John Davies announced his intention to retire from the Board. Jim McCarthy, currently Non-Executive Director at the company will become Vice Chairman. The company reported a 42 per cent increase in revenue to £346.18m for the year to October 2011, up from £243.7m in 2010. Pre-tax profit increased 17 per cent to £6.9m for the same reporting period.

Trading meets expectations - positive outlook
Lincoln-based horticultural supplier William Sinclair traded in line with market expectations in the six months to March 2012. The company experienced growing demand for a new peat substitute product and benefited from a contract to supply top soil to Olympic Park. 2011 turnover was £54.3m, 346 staff were employed.

Amenity One acquired - expansion of amenity divison
Nottingham-based Agrovista has expanded its amenity division with the acquisition of turf care specialist Amenity One. All staff will transfer to Agrovista and Graham Pickford, the owner of Amenity One, will help to manage the business from existing premises in Northumberland. In 2010 Agrovista recorded £122.2m turnover and employed 241 staff.

Amenity One Acquired - Turnover £122.2m - 240 Employees
Northumberland turf care specialist Amenity One has been acquired by Agrovista (UK) for an undisclosed sum. All staff will transfer to Agrovista and owner Graham Pickford will continue to be involved in the management of his part of the Sherriff Amenity business from the existing Northumberland premises. James Robertson is chairman and managing director.
