£10m loss at wireless technology firm - £44m restructuring costs - Over 400 jobs lost
Cambridge based wireless technology firm CSR Plc has recorded a pre-tax loss of £10.2million between January and March 2012, compared with a loss of £1.8million in the same period in 2011. The increased losses are as a result of the companys £44m of restructuring costs, which included closing down its TV business section and cutting more than 400 jobs.

New contract secured secured for windfarm scheme - 1.5bn project
Staffordshire based electricity supplier ABB Ltd has been chosen by energy company Warwick Energy Limited, as their preferred supplier for the large offshore windfarm scheme Dudgeon, near to Cromer in Norfolk. The contract for the services is not expected to be signed until 2013, and is dependent on the 1.5bn project getting planning permission and securing funding.

New R&D project - creating jobs in Befast - business expansion
Software firm Kainos is launching a research and development project at its Belfast office, creating 8 jobs. The expanding company will invest almost £4m in staff training. Kainos employs 300 staff across its offices in Belfast, Dublin, London and Gdansk. 2011 turnover was £17m.

Daisy Group has completed a £1m upgrade to its Manchester data centre, increasing capacity by 50%. It is opening a fifth UK site in 2012, in southern England. The capital investment programme will allow Daisy to deliver cloud computing to its clients and is expected to create employment and business opportunities. 2011 turnover £266.3m, 2,213 employees.

£24m government contracts won - £47m contract over 8 years
Outsourcing company Atos won £24m of contracts with The Department for Work and Pensions in 2011. This included the Government Gateway contract, which is due to end in 2014 and is worth a total of £47m.
