Performance sportswear brand Inoveight has secured investment from Isis Equity Partners to support its continued expansion into new markets and develop new products. The business has an international team of 44 with 17 new jobs created in the 12 months to May 2012.

£6.7bn Coty bid withdrawn - business turnaround strategy
Coty has withdrawn its £6.7bn takeover bid for US-based Avon Products after Avon failed to meet its deadline to respond. Avon has recorded a substantial decline in sales and recently appointed chief executive Sheri McCoy will now make stabilising the business a priority.

Part of business acquired - 100 jobs safeguarded - Seeking buyer for factory
Aquascutum administrators have sold the brand, head office and stores to a subsidiary of YGM Trading, which owns the Asian division. 100 jobs have been saved. A buyer is still being sought for the companys factory in Corby, Northamptonshire.

31 jobs lost - business restructuring
Domestic electrical applicance manufacturer Morphy Richards is reducing headcount at its operation in Swinton, South Yorkshire, due to difficult trading conditions. 31 jobs will be lost from operations and quality assurance department as part of a restructuring strategy. 2011 turnover £61.6m, 222 employees.

Open 20 stores - job opportunities - ecommerce expansion
Hotter is opening 20 stores in 2012, creating 200 jobs. It will invest between 100,000 and 200,000 in each new site. It plans to double internet revenues within three years and is expanding overseas. Production at its Lancashire factory will increase significantly and the workforce could reach 1,200 within three years. 2011 sales were 57m.

Turnover doubles - Overseas sales rise - 290,000 funding received - 19 jobs created
Cosmetic treatment company Chromogenex Technologies, based in Llanelli in Wales, has doubled its turnover to 12.5m as a result of strong sales in the US which equates for 60 per cent of the companys turnover. The company has received 290,000 funding from the Welsh government through the Single Investment Fund and repayable finance. This funding has created 19 new jobs and has enabled the company to purchase equipment to reduce manufacturing costs. Dave Morgan is Finance Director.

New contract secured - UK distributor of Swiss product
Cheshire based Martin Global Limited, which distributes and markets home products and appliances, has won a contract to act as UK distributor for Swiss products Durgol Swiss Espresso. Durgol is a coffee machine descaling product, designed to remove limescale from espresso coffee machines. Beverley Martin is Director of Martin Global.

County Down-based Mourne Granite has ceased trading with the loss of 17 jobs following a downturn in business and a recent legal case. The financial implications of the case had made it necessary to close the company. Mourne Granite manufactured work tops, floor tiles and memorial stones.
