Subsidiary Acquired by Chevler - Jobs Secured
Food casing company Chevler has acquired Lovely Packaging, a subsidiary of the collapsed Cardiff-based print and packaging company HartleyWilprint. Chevler acquired the business after it was put into voluntary liquidation earlier this month. The deal is expected to save the jobs of all five employees.

£12m Vauxhall contract secured - new site - creating 50 jobs
Cobra UK is expanding after securing a £12m contract with Vauxhall Motors. The car parts company is opening a 80,000sq ft unit in Wrexham, Wales and is doubling its workforce with 50 new jobs. Cobra hopes to secure additional funding from the Welsh Economic Growth Fund to support its expansion.

Profits doubled - sales increased by £4m
South Wales based Ford car dealership DG Weaver doubled profits to £615,089 in the year to 30 September 2011, compared with £266,609 in the previous year. Sales increased from £13.1m to £17.7m helped by a a new site in Talbot Green.

85 new jobs - £1m electric vehicles factory
Iain Falconer, the director of Better by Miles Ltd, is opening a £1m electric vehicles factory in Gwynedd, Wales, which will create up to 85 jobs. The factory aims to become the UK's leading supplier of commercial electric vehicles. It is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2012.
