New product developed with partner - European launch during 2012
Rentokil Initial Plc, the business services group, and partner Byotrol plc, the developer of anti microbial hygiene technologies, have formally launched the UltraProtect range, powered by Byotrol, under a contract announced in July 2011. UltraProtect is a range of hand and surface sanitising products for commercial and public use, featuring a gel hand sanitiser, a foam hand sanitiser, and handy packs of hand and surface wipes. Rentokil Initial will be introducing the new product across Europe during 2012, commencing in the UK, France and Germany.

Chairman Steps Down - Successor Appointed
De La Rue plc have appointed Philip Rogerson as a non executive director with effect from 1 March 2012, and Nicholas Brookes will retire as Chairman and as a non executive director following the Annual General Meeting on 26 July 2012. Philip Rogerson will succeed Nicholas Brookes as Chairman on his retirement. Tim Cobbold is Chief Executive Officer, Colin Child is Group Finance Director.

Reorganisation - 440 Jobs at Risk - Distribution Centre Relocation
Catalogue retailer Argos plans to reclocate its Midlands distribution centre from Corby to Lutterworth in Leicestershire with a view of cutting network costs. The work is due to commence in Summer and complete by Autumn 2012. 440 jobs are at risk in Northamptonshire.

Profits warning -property market downturn affects sales
Floor-covering retailer Carpetright Plc has issued another profits warning. In December 2011 the company warned that full-year profits would be between £8.8m and £11.9m. It has now warned that profits for the year to April 2012 will be as low as £8m. Sales have been adversely affected by the downturn in the property market.

Two senior appointments - new CEO and medical director
Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust has appointe David Law as chief executive with effect from 12 March 2012, while Dr Hemal Desai will become medical director on 13 February 2012. Mr Law previously worked for West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Dr Desai is a former GP and clinical lead for NHS Midlands and East strategic projects team.

Kimberly-Clark, well known for its Andrex, Kleenex and Huggies brands, has renewed its lease for its Kings Hill, Kent, UK headquarters. The building was built for the company in 1997 and is owned by Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust UK Ltd.

Profit falls 41% - sales fall 8% - global output down 20%
Japan-based Honda recorded a 41% decline in profit for the 2011/12 third quarter to 47.6bn yen from 81.1bn yen a year earlier. Third quarter sales fell 8% to 1.94tn yen. In 2011, the car manufacturer's global output fell 20% to 2.9 million cars, the first time it has fallen below 3 million for eight years.
