New product launched with partner - Contract extended worth £300,000
Byotrol plc, the developer of anti microbial hygiene technologies, and partner Rentokil Initial Plc, have formally launched the UltraProtect range, powered by Byotrol, under a contract announced in July 2011. UltraProtect is a range of hand and surface sanitising products for commercial and public use, featuring a gel hand sanitiser, a foam hand sanitiser, and handy packs of hand and surface wipes. In addition, Byotrol has agreed terms for a six month extension of the Joint Development Agreement ('JDA') with their Fortune 150 partner company, for which Byotrol Consumer Products Limited will receive $300,000. Gary Millar is the Chief Executive of Byotrol Plc.

Potential new jobs - £11.7bn energy meter programme
BGlobal Plc expects to create jobs after a £11.7bn scheme to distribute energy reading devices to homes and businesses was revived. The programme was delayed by the government in 2011 but BGlobal is now working with an experienced retailer to establish a new energy supplier to enter the residential market.

173 jobs lost - cost savings strategy
Following a ban on recruitment and a reduction in spending Cumbria Constabulary will start the 2012/13 financial year with 50 fewer police officers and 123 fewer civilian staff than at the same point in the previous year. The job losses are part of the force's strategy to reduce its budget following funding cuts.

Revenue rises 30% following acquisition - Profit falls 25%
Agricultural business, NWF Group, based in Nantwich in Cheshire, has recorded a 30% rise in revenue following the acquisition of Swan Petroleum in September 2011 which increased the fuel divisions volumes by 10%. Revenue reached £263.7m for the half-year to November 2011, up from £203.4m in the same period in 2010. Operating profit at the business fell by 25% to £2.4m, down from £3.2m in 2010. Mark Hudson is Chairman of the NWF Group.

Profits double at identity management specialist - Revenue up 20% - £11.2m acquisition
Chester identity management specialist GB Groups operating profits have doubled to£2.4m in the nine months to December 2011, up from £1.2m for the same period in 2010. Revenue has also risen by 20%. Group sales increased from £17.7m to £21.2m. In addition, GB Group agreed an £11.2m deal to buy London-headquartered Capscan in November 2011 and is integrating the business into its current operations.
