Yorkshire Building Society is creating 40 new jobs at Norwich & Peterborough Building Society's base in Peterborough. Yorkshire Building Society merged with Norwich & Peterborough Building Society in 2011. The new customer service roles will include some managerial positions.

£25m modernisation scheme - Sheffield Mail Centre extension
Royal Mail has begun a £25 million modernisation scheme in South Yorkshire. It includes an extension to Sheffield Mail Centre to house the latest automation equipment and a state-of-the-art fleet of vehicles after a decision to transfer processing work to Sheffield from Doncaster and Hull. 800 people will be based at the site. Byotrol plc, the developer of anti microbial hygiene technologies, and partner Rentokil Initial Plc, have formally launched the UltraProtect range, powered by Byotrol, under a contract announced in July 2011. UltraProtect is a range of hand and surface sanitising products for commercial and public use, featuring a gel hand sanitiser, a foam hand sanitiser, and handy packs of hand and surface wipes. In addition, Byotrol has agreed terms for a six month extension of the Joint Development Agreement ('JDA') with their Fortune 150 partner company, for which Byotrol Consumer Products Limited will receive $300,000. De La Rue plc have appointed Philip Rogerson as a non executive director with effect from 1 March 2012, and Nicholas Brookes will retire as Chairman and as a non executive director following the Annual General Meeting on 26 July 2012. Reorganisation - 440 Jobs at Risk - Distribution Centre Relocation
Catalogue retailer Argos plans to reclocate its Midlands distribution centre from Corby to Lutterworth in Leicestershire with a view of cutting network costs. The work is due to commence in Summer and complete by Autumn 2012. 440 jobs are at risk in Northamptonshire.
