The deadline to respond to the latest bid was 14 May 2012 but Avon is seeking additional time. Avon recorded weak first-quarter results, including a fall in profits and is planning a business review.

16 May 2012Sales rise 8 per cent at retailer - Profit to reach £65mElectrical goods retailer DSG Retail Ltd, based in Hertfordshire, have recorded an 8 per cent rise in like-for-like sales in the UK and Ireland in the 16 weeks to April 2012. Full year underlying profits are expected to be approximately between £65 million and £70m. Sebastian James is Chief Executive of DSG Retail Ltd.
