Catalogue retailer Argos plans to reclocate its Midlands distribution centre from Corby to Lutterworth in Leicestershire with a view of cutting network costs. The work is due to commence in Summer and complete by Autumn 2012. 440 jobs are at risk in Northamptonshire.

The Waterman Country Pub & Restaurant in Hatton, Warwickshire, is undergoing a major refurbishment and will create 40 new jobs. A variety of roles are available including chefs, bartenders and waiting staff.

Scolmore International Limited, which markets and distributes electrical products and accessories, has restructured its sales team to strengthen the companys efforts to develop new business opportunities as well as build existing accounts. The team has expanded to three regions and will comprise eleven sales areas for each area of the country, covered by a business development manager as well as an area sales manager. The company has appointed five new staff as a direct result. Michael Feist is the Area Sales Manager for the West Midlands. Adrian Fairclough will join the company as Business Development Manager for the Midlands region. David Rankin has taken on the role of Business Development Manager for Northern Ireland. Barry Taylor joins Scolmore as Regional Sales Manager for the new Scotland & Northern Ireland region. John Lonnon, the most recent addition to the sales force, has joined the company as Business Development Manager for the South East. Ian Hunter is the National Sales Manager.

Worcester technology company Postcode Anywhere has appointed three new members of staff and further recruitment is planned as part of an ongoing strategic expansion strategy. The company is launching new products and is increasing its market share and revenue.
