Planning and urban design consultancy Turley Associates, acting on behalf of Premier Inn are to begin work on £10m 175-bedroom Premier Inn in Bristol city centre.

Scolmore International Limited, which markets and distributes electrical products and accessories, has restructured its sales team to strengthen the companys efforts to develop new business opportunities as well as build existing accounts. The team has expanded to three regions and will comprise eleven sales areas for each area of the country, covered by a business development manager as well as an area sales manager. The company has appointed five new staff as a direct result. Michael Feist is the Area Sales Manager for the West Midlands. Adrian Fairclough will join the company as Business Development Manager for the Midlands region. David Rankin has taken on the role of Business Development Manager for Northern Ireland. Barry Taylor joins Scolmore as Regional Sales Manager for the new Scotland & Northern Ireland region. John Lonnon, the most recent addition to the sales force, has joined the company as Business Development Manager for the South East. Ian Hunter is the National Sales Manager.

Low cost airline Ryanair has recorded a rise of 40 million Euros in its profit forecast. Pre-tax profit for the year April 2012 is estimated at 480 million Euros (£403 million). This rise in profit is as a result of lower fuel costs as the airline grounded 80 of its aircraft and increased fares by approximately 17%. Michael O'Leary is Chief Executive.

Birmingham-based Resource Services Group, which provides security and guarding services ton companies in the UK and Ireland, has appointed Russ Smith as National Security Director. Mr Smith joined the company in March 2011 and the position is a new role for the company. The group has also appointed Neill Pow as National Security Operations Manager.
