Scotland-based contact centre operator Journeycall, is recruiting up to 50 more employees to deal with an expected increase in customer calls related to the 2012 Olympics. Clients include major transport firms such as Stagecoach, Go-Ahead and Transport for London, as well as London Councils. Trisha Pirie is MD of Journeycall.

London-based Leisure Pass Group has been sold to its management team in a £35m buyout, supported by private equity firm Primary Capital. The company will now expand its customer offering in existing and new markets. The ongoing growth strategy has the potential to create jobs. 2010 turnover was £27.6m.

Nordex has secured a major contract with Infinis, to supply 2.5MW turbines to five windfarms. The 22 turbines will be installed at two windfarms in Scotland and five in England. Construction work will commence in 2012, with the expected creation of new jobs. 2010 turnover £84.1m, 86 employees.

Tool and equipment hire specialist HSS Hire Service Group has been put on the market. HSS Hire employs more than 300 people across its operations in Greater Manchester. It has depots from Inverness to Redruth in Cornwall. Plans for future growth include expanding its network of local branches and HSS Outsource, a range of equipment for rental to contract cleaners.
