Solihull-based Paragon, the mortgage origination group, has recorded a rise in profits to £20.3m for the period from October 2011, compared to £18.1m in 2010 for operating profit, as a result of income generated from the groups new business developments. Pre-tax profit was £20.8m for the same period. During 2011 the group continued to develop its new lending business, completed its first securitisation since 2007 and secured portfolio acquisition investment opportunities.
