Royal Mail has begun a £25 million modernisation scheme in South Yorkshire. It includes an extension to Sheffield Mail Centre to house the latest automation equipment and a state-of-the-art fleet of vehicles after a decision to transfer processing work to Sheffield from Doncaster and Hull. 800 people will be based at the site.
